Chicago Cultural Center
My Reality
The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs hired Formato to print large outdoor vinyl banners to promote My Reality, an exhibition exploring the impact of Japanese animation, commonly known as anime, on contemporary art in Asian countries and countries in the West. Since the building is an historic landmark, it was necessary to make a device for mounting the banners to the columns on the Randolph Street side of the building to avoid drilling into the structure.

Kearns & Markle
Formato was hired by Kearns and Markle, a design and communications firm in Chicago, to print trade show graphics for their client Jason Dae & Associates, Inc. The designer requested that a portion of the graphics be printed with a chrome finish. To reproduce this look, it was necessary to print the graphics to a backlit material and overlay chrome finish vinyl lettering to the final output.

BodyWithin, Inc./JWFerris Studios
BodyWithin and JWFerris Studios wanted outdoor promotional signage that would hold up to the strong winds and unpredictable Chicago weather. The images were printed with UV inks, then mounted to Sintra and laminated with scratch resistant hot lamination for extra durability. Not only are the signs sun, rain, and wind proof, JWFerris Studios recently reported their sign was run over by a car and it still looks great!
